The Three Most Important Things You Can Do to protect your relationship with the Lord
1 John 1:1 KJV
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
1. Develop a desire to Worship
There are Christians we all know who have decided that they don’t need to attend church; indeed, you don’t need to attend church to be saved, but you do need to attend church to properly worship him.
Hebrews 10:25 KJV
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
The Lord’s definition of worship is different than ours
Elements of Proper Worship
• Praise
• Thankfulness
• Confession of Sin
• Reading Gods word
• Proper Music
2. Develop a Desire to know him
Philippians 3:8 KJV
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
How to know him
• Spend quality time with Him
• Keep his commandments
John 15:15 KJV
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
3. Develop a Desire to serve him
Titus 2:11–14 KJV
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
doing these three things will enable you to protect your relationship with the Lord
doing these three things will allow you to abide in him and will allow him to dwell in you
doing these three things will assist you in the process of sanctification
