The Slow Fade
The loss of a close relationship is not usually a sudden event. It is usually the result of a slow fade. One small step after another, and before you know it, there is “suddenly” a huge gap. You see this in the workplace too, the good employee starts off great, but after some time, they start to take shortcuts, thinking that they are good enough to cut corners. That is what happened to Peter as the Crucifixion approached.
And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept. – Mark 14:72
